Meeting minutes Mar10
This meeting held successfully by these first time role takers.
First time toastmaster Elsa shared her parents’ mixed feeling with their beloved cat ‘Jenny’. She’s lovely while she behaves well but not while she’s naughty. These mixed feeling always around us. Then first time table topic master Simon gave us a big challenge. We need to overcome these mixed feeling. That gave our member some difficult time, CK needed to tell a white lie, Jason needed to tell a black humor. Portia even had to make a decision who to save from drowning, her mother or her partner. Then Lucy overcome it with a wise way to comfort her leaving employee by buying him coffee.
Kyle as a guest shared an inspiring findings from Donella H. Meadows “World as Village” to remind us the importance of be grateful of the moment of now as we are luckier than others around the world. No? Check it out! At least, we are not malnourished or dying from starvation. We have three interesting prepared speakers, Lucy with the help of Kyle used 4 scenario to demonstrate the Satir Model of how people cope with pressure. Everyone is interested to hear her next presentation for more explanation. Sebrina shared her life stories filled with dreams. Most of them didn’t work but didn’t beat her down from dreaming. That’s how she reminded us the power of dreaming. Issa’s shared her interesting learnings from her childhood swimming lessons in the ice breaker which filled with laughters. You missed her speech? Oh…no…she encouraged us to learn swimming especially to our next generation. At least we have better skin, better body and won’t smell bad in the toilet.
GE Cindy enjoyed the meeting and appreciated the well prepared and set up of the meeting. Everyone is energetic and passionate in their roles. But we can do better by watching out our crutch words and our plurals usage. Overall, it’s a ‘cohesive’ meeting. Thanks wordsmith Liu Bing brought us a rewarding word and picked up our good language performance.
Thanks to our minutes takers: Sebrina and our guest Sam
