Today’s meeting minutes takers: Jason and Tessa
Theme of the meeting: The magic of human nature by Vivan. After watching the movie “Avatar” she reminded us to cherish the nature and importance of connection of hearts.
Porsher’s speech on negotiation gave us some fresh ideas on how to negotiate with other people by putting ourselves in other people’s shoes first. Her demonstration showed us on how to insist our idea to persuade boss with a win/win situation. Terra speech gave us encouragement to keep staying and improving in toastmasters. That definitely enhance our presentation and leadership skills.
Our news master, Simon told us there is a new law proposed on Animals Rights. So love our animal or we will get fined!
Today there was a special watching and learn in our “Evaluation Education Session” by Liu Bing, Evaluation in TM is about helping others to improve and enhance our presentation skills. Today’s tip is “Specific” Be specific while we do evaluation in sandwich way. We can incorporate humor and more importantly to “encourage” the speaker. That’s what TM provides by motivating he/she to present by practicing to get success.
Ah counter Maggie recommended us to reduce our crutch words by setting aim every meeting to get better performance. Wordsmith Monica suggested us to collect more appraisal vocabulary that helpful in our daily communication. Very detailed performance review by GE Angela, reminded us to be focus while be efficient which helps to send out our main message.
Next meeting is our last meeting before Spring festival! And we will have an interesting Table Topics session by Monica. Don’t missed it!
