Coming Meeting July21

A new week is coming. And as usual, we are going to have a new meeting on July 21.

I believe that if you take a look at the agenda attached behind the email, you couldn’t wait to attend the meeting.

Why? Because we will have 3 excellent speakers, Issa, Maggie and CK!
Issa is featured in wisdom. She always give us surprise whenever she is on the stage. Now she is going to perform CC3. Let’s see what is the surprise this time! Maggie is a nice girl, but rarely show up this year. It’s a good chance for new guys to know this senior member. And for CK, he is going to give a prepared speech! How long haven’t you seen CK doing a speech in TMGC? If you miss the meeting, you could wait for half a year to see his next speech!

What’s more? We also have Simon to lead the table topic session. He will use several questions to help you understand the meeting’s theme: “Habits”.

Yes, “Habits” is a very common topic. I believe that everyone would like to share their own experience with others.

Let’s see how wonderful will be the meeting! See you on July 21.

Best wishes,
Kyle Zhang

It’s never too late for us to praise others.

Special Meeting’s Minutes Jun30

Meeting Theme: Never too late to know                              Minutes by Lili Li
Toastmaster: Monica Kwan

Highlight: Our president Monica demonstrated what we’ve achieved and showed us some lovely group photos in the last 6 months. She inspired us to integrate toastmaster experiences into our work and life, and it would never too late to know how to do it.

Table Topics session hosted by Rolf Chew about how to transfer toastmaster skills into real-life incidents.

1, Our experienced member Porsher successfully persuaded her friend to believe that toastmaster is a helpful and vivid organization, not an illegal organization with her sincerity, smile, wonderful body language and inspiration.

2, With beautiful smiles, Issa turned a small car accident into a possible start for a romantic relationship by asking the angry driver whose car was hit by Issa’s car out.

3, Kyle impressed us a lot when he was preparing to deliver a marvelous first impression to his future father and mother-in-law by a gorgeous outfit, favorable topics and equal attitudes of treating them as his own parents.

4, Cindy appealed not only the high housing price, how she works hard to get an apartment, and how much she loves her parents when persuading her parents to move to Beijing from their hometown to live with her.

5, Chris senses something wrong with his date in a dinner when they were together for four months, instead of asking the problem, he promised with much emotion that he would give her a memorable six month anniversary.

6, On the way to an important farewell party of her best friend, Cathy Jia found out her mobile phone had gone out battery. Clever Cathy quickly borrowed a phone from others and found the number.

7, Sebrina decided to give it a second shot to join a toastmaster meeting although the first meeting was quite boring. After all, sometimes, one has to endure the boredom to get to know the new and funny stuff in life.

Special Guest Speaker:
Today, we are honor to have the Toastmaster International Director Keith E. Ostergard to share “A Toastmaster Transformation”

Keith shared with us his toastmaster experiences that how he got to know toastmasters, how he joined the club in 1999, and how he grew from a member to international director. The most importantly, how toastmaster has helped him in his professional and private life, to become a smarter guy, a better communicator, and a far more better leader in a humorous and hilarious way. He emphasized on three points:

1, In toastmasters, you learn how to inspire people through brain, heart, and even stomach, instead of materials.
2, Never stop giving back to toastmasters, because when you give back, you’ll receive twice back.
3, Be open-minded and ask open-ended questions when you want to get help from others.

Evaluations:
From General Evaluator Terra: When a speaker gets on the stage, give out our support and encouragements by a big applause.
From Table Topic Evaluator Tessa: We can evaluate a speech through 3S: structure, style and special points.

Installation for the new executive committee
Thank you the last term committee for giving us such a wonderful term in TM’s journey! Congratulations on the new executive committee team!
