In the first new year meeting toastmaster Liu Bing shared his tips on how to overcome talking with strangers by “Instant Communication – 10 seconds rule” He encouraged us to do the same and brought us to practice by sharing our special moments in Spring festivals. With the Tiger Spring coming we will embrace our Table Topic contest in the meeting of Feb.24.
Our meeting theme is “Instant Speaking”.
In my childhood I was amazed many times by Mr.An – the dean of my middle school, by the hisotry teacher Mr.Li…, they seemed to be able to talk about any topic, answer any question imdediately after they were asked, and they could explain it very clearly.That was part of the reason I came to GC. with the Table Topic speech contest coming, the experience of having instant speaking will become more impressive, for everyone of us.

Theme of the meeting: The Best About I like…by Porsher
She leaded us to find much more bright sides of ourselves and our current situation by answering questions as TM i.e What do you like the most about yourself/your friends/ your job / your group like TM. In this way, THE MORE YOU LIKE YOURSELF, THE HAPPIER YOUR LIFE WOULD BE.
However, our lives sometimes disturbed by others’ bad times, so in Monica’s table topics session, we needed to overcome these disturbance and influence them positively. Jason’s wife complaint his lack of housework contribution. He comforted her by his love and gained respect from his wife’s understanding of his busy work load. Husband felt guilty by losing the wedding ring. Smart Tessa comforted him by blaming the naughty dog ‘Rocky’ and came up with the exciting suggestion that having a second wedding ceremony. It is time of having the last meeting before the Lunar Festival! It is gonna be something special! How special it is gonna be? Let’s take a look:
What about knowing yourself better and like yourself better? What about viewing things from a different point and making yourself a different one? What about making your upcoming days shinning and making this world a better place to live? We could find out ways of approaching through the theme of the meeting: “The Best About I like…”
