We had a nice and light atmosphere meeting led by our TM Justine. She learnt a new way to “Find Happiness by Compromise” from a dermatologist although we agreed part of it. That’s an interesting idea exchange opening. Then our meeting warmed up by our prepared speakers. Marty shared a technical speech on “information logical of communication” with lively examples from the conversations of 2 Chinese philosophers discussing about the Happiness of Fishes, and even conversations between two GC members. That vivid roles performances brought us lots of laughs and better understanding of this topic. Lily as his evaluator enjoyed his way of fulfilling the project 3 objectives. Second speaker Terra, shared her professional knowledge with a relax delivery to bring us an awareness on “Winter Sports”. That raised our interested to try more in this winter. Read more »
For many of us, life is not an easy ride and full of big or petty up-and-downs. Sometimes we can’t even be fully satisfied with ourselves, about the way we look, our own lifestyle, or whatever shortcomings we may have. However, until we realize that “the essence of human being (and life) is imperfection”, we would never see the truth of happiness. When we start to comprise with ourselves and people around us, and lower our expectations to life, happiness will be not far away from us. Read more »
Nov 11th is a day to celebrate who was and is single, therefore, Lily as her First Time toastmaster, brought us back to our First Time TM’s memories. She shared her first time visited, how she met Terra in her early arrival and how she attracted to stay on after Terra’s introduction of us. We heard many stories how our members can get benefits from TM and how the magics changed their lives. Toastmasters is a 85 years proven program changed many people’s lives and their dreams come true. The magics of TM is there. 30 years ago, woman was not allowed to attend the meeting but now we can. “Change an idea, Change your life” Being the first time Toastmaster, Lucy reminded us to choose the right emotions to react when issues come. That led a new style of meeting. Timer Kelvin as a powerful traffic policeman was so strict on us in time management. Ah counter Sissi set us a good example and suggested how to get away from crutch words by focusing on our speech.
