85 years ago, on the 22nd of Oct, the first official Toastmasters meeting in the basement of a YMCA in Santa Ana, California, USA. It was led by Dr. Ralph C. Smedley with a small group of men learning speech-after dinner.

By inspiring from Will Smith’s movie of “The Pursuit of Happiness”, even we had difficult time like financial crisis, we still have a choice to choose. Thank you for attending our first meeting after the national holiday. The room filled up your passion and cheerfulness.
Our Toastmaster CK brought us to understand the importance of “Time Management” told us it’s important to invest in the right thing with time. Wordsmith Lucy elaborated the theme with three related words “Deadline”, “Routine” and “Effective”
Lily, our topics master explored on how we used our time in life: During the national holiday, Peter celebrated with his 90years old grandfather’s birthday; Chris from Mars relieves stress by sharing time with friends and joins Toastmasters meeting; Terra got a chance to go back to college she didn’t want to work on high score again. Sidney’s friend, Leon wants to achieve further in career. Porsher shared on how she overcome the weakness in time management. At the end, Miranda from HK won the best table topics on how she enjoyed the beauty of Beijing’s environment and invite us to join her to explore Beijing’s countryside in the future.
