September 24 was a special meeting! Let’s see what special parts were.

Our dedicated Toastmaster Peter brought a touching theme: “How to cope with frustration successfully”. Frustration is a thing every one of us had experienced many times, for some it may seems to be happened always. With thoughtful thinking Peter brought ideas to cope with it effectively, briefly speaking, there are four ways:
1. Take it easy and try to think it through in other ways
2. Summarize the lessons out of the failure and imagine how it was successfully avoided in the future
3. Take actions upon it and then diverse attention to other priorities
4. Believe in Time, as it will cure every wound

The meeting theme was “Be A Boss”, which
was promoted by Liu Bing, In the long introduction, he explained the
origination of Boss and reinforced two characteristics of a boss: Accountability
and responsibility.
We had a devoted evaluation team lead by CK,
who gave thorough introduction at the beginning and detailed feedback at the
end of the meeting. According to him:
Peter as
Wordsmith brought relevant word of the day to the theme – “Authentic”,
there were totally four related words introduced, if they could be reduced to
one the audience would have more focus.
Becky as
Our Ah Counter did careful listening and reporting, and she gave several tips for audience
to reduce the Ah usage.
Justine
as Timer did a brave job, she help the meeting to move
on within time frame and following the meeting schedule strictly

promoted the use of notes of Angela and Terra, they could basically
give feedback not binded to the notes, they only used it for several very short
moment, this increased their sincerity and credibility of their message.
He also hoped the use of blackboard could be improved
by advance preparation on it so to keep speakers’ front face toward audience.
We had two speakers spoke in the prepared session: Daisy and Allen.

Global Communicators had a special meeting on Aug.27, Table Topic session was a contest, totally 8 members joined the contest, which topped the history of our club.
The participants were: Terra, Tessa, Allen, Forrest, Liu Bing, Sissi, Mia, Jeff.
Matt and Monica were taking several roles together in the meeting, Matt was TM and Contest Master, Monica was Chief Judge, Contest SAA and Ballot counter.
All contest participants and judges were briefed on the rules 10 minutes before the meeting, when the meeting started, TM Matt introduced the meeting and started the contest on time.
The topic was “What was the best thing of the Beijing Olympics?”, and participants were brought in the room one by one according to the lotted sequence, as the procedures was strictly following the TM rules, the tension in the contest was properly generated, According to Jeff – the eighth contestant, “seeing people leaving me one by one to the room, the pressure was increased little by little, when entering the room, it was silent, no sound, no laugh, all these added up to the pressure.”, however, each contestant manage to overcome the difficulty and delivered successfully their messages.
